JULY news

June was tough but July might just be tougher.

Back to back heatwaves is causing havoc with growers. Brassica’s yellowing before harvest, Berries baking in the direct sun, Even ambient lines have taken a hit with Red Onions & Baking Potatoes suffering sun damage.

These are however the trials and tribulations of the fresh produce industry, Unfortunately consistency isn’t a guarantee!

But whilst some lines have taken a real battering, some are flourishing under the conditions and none more so than the Kent Cherry.

our company

Unlike most in the industry, we don’t boast a warehouse stacked full of produce waiting around to be sold.

In fact, ours is pretty empty and that’s just the way we like it!

Fewer suppliers than ever are prepared to walk the line in the young hours of the morning in this day and age, instead opting for the easier route by ordering over the telephone from major importers. We get it, it makes for a much easier life, but that’s not a real supplier.
