We love nothing more than championing produce from local growers. During the summer season we join up with Rectory Farm, Sandy Lane, Wykham Park and North Aston Organics to name a few. If you think you’ve got something special to offer then get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!

may news

May is all about peak season Asparagus. But not just any Asparagus, once again we’ve partnered up with neighbours Wykham Park Farm for another season of their incredible produce.

Just 1.5 miles away from our base, Lizzie and her team pick, pack and delivery thousands of spears to fridge every week during the 8 week season ready to hit the chefs and farm shops the very next morning. A truly incredible product that we are so proud to champion each year.

May is also the start of Spanish Stone Fruit season. Apricot, Peach, Nectarine and Laetitia Plum have all kicked off in style whilst we await the first of the Cherry to get us warmed up for local stuff in a month or so time.

May sees introduction of British salad too. Some incredible Tomato lines have come in already, Cucumbers, Lettuce and Capsicums too.

Isle of Wight Tomatoes remain a fan favourite with their individual characteristics and vibrancy. A weekly delivery from the IOW team from the middle of the month will ensure we are hitting all bases when it comes to heritage Tomatoes this season.

Huge month for spuds too, we’re 5 weeks in to Jersey Royal season but the tail end of April saw the first of the Cornish Earlies. Truly stunning spuds that sparks debates all over the country. Jersey? Cornish? Norfolk? Literally tonnes to choose from!

Can’t sign off without mentioning British Strawberries. We’ve had tasters in the past few years but this is the first Spring we have seen mass produced British poly tunnel Straws. Splitting opinions due to their early arrival but one thing we can agree on is their undeniable quality.

About
our company

Unlike most in the industry, we don’t boast a warehouse stacked full of produce waiting around to be sold.

In fact, ours is pretty empty and that’s just the way we like it!

Fewer suppliers than ever are prepared to walk the line in the young hours of the morning in this day and age, instead opting for the easier route by ordering over the telephone from major importers. We get it, it makes for a much easier life, but that’s not a real supplier.
